Why Hemp and Merino?
Our family has been producing wool for over 100 years and has observed a trend toward blending it with synthetics for apparel. We sought to find a natural alternative. By combining the softness of merino wool with the strength and sustainability of hemp, our unique Hemprino™ yarn is 100% natural and designed to last.
Our Story.
Located in the Upper Rakaia Gorge beneath the snowcapped Southern Alps of New Zealand, Glenaan Station is home to Paul and Prue Ensor and our children Juliet, Guy, and Hugh. We produce ultra-fine merino wool alongside sustainable farming practices and biodiversity. Hemprino was founded out of our passion for natural fibres, and we are proud to bring together hemp and merino in our luxurious knits.
